Mom's UK Journal

Today I found something I had not known was still around: my mom's journal of our trip in 1988. Writing with more than a bit o' flair ( and sometimes blarney!) runs in the family, and I got a kick out of re-reading this. I have decided to transcribe it, and post it here. I also found our photos, which aren't the best, but I may try to get some of them on to this site. The right camera, the right film.....didn't think about it then, or they might have been better. I am doing this for a couple of reasons- the writing is funny, and full of my mom's personality, and many of her grand children never got a chance to know her in their adult years. This may give them some insight into their grandmother they might not otherwise know. As my family's historian of a sort, I can understand wanting to know more about those who came before.I have spent much time researching certain people, and still only really have facts and figures. The Person inside may always be a mystery. Well, not mom. My family is constantly thought to be a little queer (i.e., weird) and she was part of that. I will do my best to make certain it isn't lost.
